It's All About Water Control

Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow this year and predicted an early spring. I’m certainly ready for the temperatures to rise and the sun to come back but is your home prepared? These are some easy preventative maintenance reminders I have come across that are easily ignored until they create a much bigger issue. 


With all the rainfall in 2018 a common issue has been moisture. Weather.gov reports 72 inches of rainfall last year in Charlottesville, this is 2 feet more than the normal level of yearly rainfall for the area. This level of rain means that your roof fed roughly 50,000 gallons of rain water through your gutters last year.

History of Lego

  Have you ever wondered where Lego got its name? No, not the kids’ toys you grew up with. Lego, as in the road that snakes its way up the side of the 1,296 foot elevation of Trevillian Mountain. The land that the road gets its name from boasts a lineage that traces directly to Thomas Jefferson himself.  
  The land was once part of a large sprawling parcel that was divided into four more manageable sections and assigned to caretakers who cultivated and farmed the lands. The “Quarter Farm” known as Lego is where Jefferson chose to find a quiet spot in the area where he would get comfortable and read to relax in nature. This name, Lego, is a latin word meaning “to read.”
