DID WINTER SNEAK UP ON YOU THIS YEAR?
It is not too late to get on top of things. In addition to a snow shovel, window scrapers and a hat here are few other items you can tackle.
Make Sure Your Heat Stays On:
Change your air filters on a regular schedule. It will help your system and improve air quality in your home. Schedule an appointment with a heating and cooling professional to get your heating system checked and cleaned up. This is a great time to think about an annual maintenance contract so you will not have to worry about things for next year.
Check Out Your Roof:
See if you spot any missing or curling shingles. Check the flashing around openings in the roof, such as skylights and chimneys for leaking problems. Check your ceilings for any water spots. If you have access to your attic, be sure to check it for signs of water damage or discolorations. Make sure gutters are firmly attached and are clear of leaves, and debris. If you suspect your roof needs repair get it checked out. Waiting can cost you much more.
Clean That Chimney: If you are burning wood make sure your chimney also gets cleaned. It is important that your chimney and any vent pipes are free of debris. A professional chimney sweep can also get set on an annual schedule.
